- CA DMV Driver's License or ID;
- US Passport;
- Foreign Passport stamped by USCIS;
- Driver's License or ID issued by another state;
- Driver's License from Canada or Mexico;
- Employee ID issued by State of California, or any city or county within the state - must contain photograph, description & signature
- ID cards issued by USCIS can only be used to notarize immigration / USCIS forms
Most Common Notarial Acts
Acknowledgment
This is the most common notarial act performed by a notary public. The notary public certifies: 1) That the signer personally appeared before the notary public on the date and in the county indicated. 2) The identity of the signer is confirmed and 3) that the signer acknowledged executing (signing) the document.
Jurat
This is second most common notarial act performed by a notary public. In the jurat, the notary public certifies: 1) That the signer personally appeared before the notary public on the date and in the county indicated. 2) That the signer signed the document in the presence of the notary public. 3) That the notary public administered the oath or affirmation and 4) that the identity of the signer confirmed.
